Membership: Members of the Print Media Committee will be appointed by the President. There will be six members serving three-year terms, with the terms of two members expiring each year.
Annual "Charlie" Awards (categories include):
- "Charlie Award" for Best Printed Piece
- Best Print Media Advertising
- Most Innovative Printed Promotional Item
These awards are presented in honor of Charlie White, Portland State University and WASSA President-1982. Charlie was the 'go to' person for review or insight of Summer Session Catalogs or Bulletins, thus promoting his infamous 'red ink' to make it's mark on the vast majority of WASSA members' catalogs at some point throughout the years. In 1984, the first "Charlie" was awarded for excellence in summer catalogs and it has continued to be a part of our annual awards, with slight adjustments to category titles as catalogs/bulletins have been replaced with smaller more practical print media materials.
